Mrs. Mae Deweese Collins Stone, age 91, of Orrum, NC passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Golden Living Nursing Center in Lumberton. Mrs. Stone was born October 20, 1922 to the late Elias and Betsy Ann Collins. She retired after 28 years as Postmaster of Orrum Post Office and was a member of Broad Ridge Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by a daughter, Sue Britt (Jerry); a son, William R. Stone (Kitty); grandchildren, Suzanne B. Jackson (Derek), Christopher Britt (fiancé, Allison), Philip Stone (Kristen), and Mitch Stone (Charlene); great-grandchildren, Tanner Jackson, Lexi, Payne, and Grace Stone, and Brooke and Grayson Stone. In addition to her parents Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Stone. A time of visitation was held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton. A funeral service was held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Broad Ridge Baptist Church in Orrum with Rev. Michael Longson and Rev. James Seaman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broad Ridge Baptist Church, 949 North Broadridge Road, Orrum, NC 28369.
