Mrs. Mabel Richardson Hardin, age 87, of Fayetteville, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 11, 1938 to the late Vollie & Thetis Richardson. She enjoyed her time as the owner and hairdresser of Mabel Beauty Salon for many years until her retirement, and she was also a long-time member of Faymont Baptist Church of Fayetteville, NC.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Billy Hardin, Sr.; a grandson, John Steven Hardin; and two siblings, Willie Horace Richardson and Jeanette Bryant.

She is survived by her children: Mary Delias and husband Keith of Fayetteville, NC, and their daughter, Melissa Delias Underwood (husband Rocky and son Granger) of Mississippi, John Hardin and wife Kyung and their son, Joshua Hardin, of Fayetteville, NC, and James Hardin, Jr. of the home; and two sisters, Jerrel Ann Lennon of Lumberton, NC and Geneva Anderson of Naples, FL.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 1:00-2:30 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
