Mabel Shirley Scott Edge, age 79, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Ridgewood Manor in Washington, NC. She was the daughter of the late William and Hattie Scott Scott, born in Scotland County, NC on May 24, 1930. She previously worked as an inspector for Gerber Corporation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Edge, Jr. and a son, David R. Edge.

Mrs. Edge is survived by one son, William Jasper Edge of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Dianah Lynn Everett of Washington, NC and Shirley R. Townsend and husband, William of Lumberton, NC; one brother-in-law, Norris Edge and wife, Sue of Raleigh, NC; one sister-in-law, Nellie Heavenridge of Angleton, TX; two grandchildren, William C. Townsend and wife, Kristy and Ben H. Townsend; and one great-grandchild, Karys.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Regan United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the Regan United Methodist Church cemetery. A time of visitation will follow at the church.
