Luverta Carter Lewis age 92, of 310 E. Wardell St. Pembroke died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Pembroke Care & Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 7-9 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.
Ms. Lewis was preceded in death by her father and step mother, Jim and Lizzie Carter; her mother Luverta Locklear; her husband, Wade Lewis, Sr.; two daughters, Geneva Addicks and Sandra Kay Godwin; three brothers.
She is survived by six sons, Wade Lewis, Jr. and wife Hazel, Vernon Lewis and wife Sue and Roscoe Lewis and wife Marsha all of Rowland; James Lewis and wife Carolyn of Lumberton, Harold Lewis and wife Priscilla of Maxton, and Woodrow Lewis and wife Sue of Baltimore; two daughters, Sarah Cummings and husband Hardy of Fairmont and Mary Justice of Rowland; one sister, Geneva Holmes of Lumberton; twenty one grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many -many great-great grandchildren.
