Luther Earl Floyd, age 74, of Fairmont, NC passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Luther was born February 5, 1951 in Fairmont to the late Oscar Johnson Floyd and Lois Casey Floyd.   He enjoyed a full happy childhood surrounded by his grandparents, siblings and cousins. He enjoyed being part of the Fairmont Tornado's Football team.

His early spiritual foundation began at Trinity Methodist Church, to the end of his mortal life he grew in love for the Lord and his neighbors.  To everyone who knew him, Luther was either a "cousin" or a "friend "and he communicated his love through acts of service and kindness.

Luther learned early in life what hard work truly meant.  No matter the job, he approached it with pride, dependability, and dedication.  His mind was always turning full of ideas, suggestions, and way he believed things could be made better for the people around him.  Later in life he became an independent pine straw farmer.

In 1989, he married Liz Floyd.  He is survived by his wife, Liz  and his stepchildren Carl and Veronica; his siblings William Floyd, (Linda), Jimmy Floyd, (Jo Ann), Jane Roberts, Susan Mullins (Dwayne); as well as 5 nieces and 4 nephews.  He is preceded in death by his brother-n-law Paul Roberts.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, Fairmont. The Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon.
