Mr. Luther Bell, age 92, of Lumberton, departed his earthly home and was welcomed into his Savior's arms on July 5, 2020.  He was born Robeson County, NC on May 8, 1928 to the late James Bell and the late Lucretia Ledwell Bell.  He was a longtime farmer and found great joy sharing his harvest with his friends and family.  Mr. Bell was a proud veteran of the US Army and a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Bell, James P. Bell and Paul Bell, and four sisters, Ruth Locklear, Sallie Lowery, Edith Chavis and Katie Locklear.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Geraldine S. Bell, of the home; his children, James Craig Bell, Sandra Bowen (Stephen), Bruce Bell and Susan Thompson (Gene), all of Lumberton; a brother, Lonnie Bell (Ann) of Shannon; a sister, Dorothy Blue (James) of Shannon; five grandchildren, Adam Bowen (Amanda) of Maxton, Daniel Bowen of Liberty, SC, Megan McNeill (Matt Bailey) of Fairmont, and Garrison Thompson and Gabriel Thompson, both of Lumberton; five great-grandchildren and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

All services will be private.
