Mrs. Lula "Lou" Ivey Lawson, age 100, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Robeson County on August 28, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husband, Devoy Lawson; one son, Morris Lawson and one daughter, Johnnie Lou Simmons. Mrs. Lawson is survived by her son, Alton "Babe" Lawson and wife, Judith of Lumberton; her daughter, Betty J. Lawson of Lumberton; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandson. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 7:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Ed Wilcox and Robert Lawson officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Broad Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumberton.
