Lucy Cummings Lowery, 64, of 526 Shannon Road in Lumberton, NC died May 13, 2009 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She was born on August 2, 1944 to Charles Cummings and Betty Revels in Robeson County, NC.

She is preceded in death by her husband, WIley Lowery.

Mrs. Lowery is survived by her son, Matthew Lowery of Lumberton; three daughters, Brenda Carlyle, Pamela Lowery and Patricia Brooks all of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Ruth Hunt of Lumberton, NC and Lottie Stalls of Baltimore, MD; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Hill Baptist Church on Shannon Road with the Reverends Jimmy Hammonds and Davey Locklear officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
