Lucille Williford, age 90, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Columbus County, NC on October 31, 1933 to the late English & Lilly Ward.

She loved to take fishing trips to the beach with her family and she loved reading and living life to the fullest. Her love of life brightened everyone around her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 siblings and her husband, James C. Williford.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Larry Williford of Lumberton, Donald Williford and Berintha of Fayetteville, NC, and Ricky Williford of Lumberton, NC; her daughters, Susan Green and Rebecca Ann Smith and husband Jimmy, all of Lumberton, NC; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her brother, Fred Ward of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Eloise Spivey of Whiteville, NC; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wesley Pines for their excellent care and compassion throughout her stay there.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
