Mrs. Loretta Barfield Huggins, age 85, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on June 7, 1936 to the late Sam Barfield and the late Viola Polston Barfield. She was formerly employed as the store manager of Cato Fashions and she was also a lifelong member of North Lumberton Baptist Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Huggins, and a sister, Gloria Berry.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Nance Triantafillopoulos and husband Gus of Cary, NC; two grandchildren, Ted Triantafillopoulos and Nia Triantafillopoulos Gillespie; two great-grandchildren, Wilsie Gillespie and Daphne Gillespie; a brother-in-law, Gerald Berry of Lumberton, NC; two nieces, Wendy and Christa; and a great-nephew, Brandon Johnson of New Mexico.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of GlenFlora Assisted Living for always being so caring and compassionate throughout Loretta's stay. We greatly appreciate it!

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at 2:00 PM at New Hollywood Cemetery. Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at the graveside.
