Mr. Lonnie Norwood Bowen, age 81, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his home. He was born in Robeson County, NC on February 3, 1939 to the late George Bowen and the late Frances Bass Bowen. He served in the U.S. National Guard and was later employed with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Pittman Bowen; a son, Lonnie Norwood Bowen II; a sister, Mary Frances Terrell; and a granddaughter, Jessica.

He is survived by his wife, Etta Odom of the home; a daughter, Toni Sacry (Jeff) of Lumberton, NC; three stepdaughters: Debra Allen (Larry), Donna Smith, and Shelia Grainger, all of Lumberton, NC; six grandchildren: Amanda, Brittany, Miranda, Kiersten, Zachary, and Bobby; four great-grandchildren: Vance, Brantley, Payton, and River; and a brother, Jerry Bowen of Blanchard, OK.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Blake Dodd and Pastor Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
