Mrs. Lola Chavis Hunt, of Fairmont, was born September 23, 1929 and lived 84 wonderful years, before taking her Heavenly flight on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Romie Revels and Rev. James Sampson officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday December 6, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor. She was a faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, and most of all she loved the Lord. Ms. Hunt was preceded in death by her Parents, William A. Chavis and Gertrude Chavis; her husband, Ralph "Rat" Hunt; two sisters, Christine Locklear, and Ola Pegram; two brothers, Samuel and Moses Chavis. She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Garry Lee Martin and wife, Lula Faye Martin of Fairmont; a daughter, Donna Kaye Evans of Fairmont; a brother, Caleb Chavis of St. Pauls; a sister, Iola Chavis of Pembroke; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
