Lois Bartley Carter, age 71, of Fairmont departed to her Heavenly home on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.

Ms. Carter was born November 21, 1948 in Robeson County. She was employed by the Public Schools of Robeson County as a food service worker at Fairmont High School since 1988. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She worked several years with the Jones stores and was a news paper carrier for the Robesonian Newspaper.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Raymond Bartley; mother and step father, Bertha Lewis Nance and Bob Nance; her husband, Tommie H. Carter; a sister, Rose Hunt; three brothers, Junior Hunt, Sevaston Bartley and James Bartley.

She leaves to cherish her memories, five sons, Anthony Carter and wife Teresa of Maxton, Tommy Sands Carter and wife Shari of Fairmont, Mark Carter and wife Tamisa of Lumberton, Kevin Carter and wife Pam of Fayetteville and Jason Carter and wife Shana of Fairmont; two daughters, Tammy C. Jacobs and husband Ryan of Rowland and Anita Carter and fiancé Pete Clark of Lumberton; one sister, Ramylee Mayers of Pembroke ;five brothers, Jimmy Lee Bartley of Concord, Jerry Bartley of Lumberton, Stoney Bartley of Charlotte, William Bartley of Centerville, IN., and Michael Lewis of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Madison Locklear of the home and eighteen other grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and a great host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
