Mr. Lloyd Locklear, age 78, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024. Lloyd was born in Robeson County on June 13, 1945 to the late Wilbert and Maddie Locklear.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Ray Locklear; his brother, Vander Locklear; and his sisters, Tanna Locklear, Wilma Murray, and Alice Faye Locklear.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Locklear; his sons, Jerald Locklear (terryl) of Rowland, NC, and Phillip Rogers (Precilla) of Pembroke, NC; his daughters, April Brooks (Jefferey Butler) of Fairmont, NC, Janice Locklear of Lumberton, and Renee Locklear of Lumberton; his brothers, Curly Locklear (Flora Mae) of Lumberton, and Wilford Locklear (Melissa) of Laurinburg, NC; his sisters, Sheila Lowery (David) of Pembroke, NC, Patricia Ann Jones (Martin) of Lumberton, NC, Carol Chavis (David) of Lumberton, NC, Lori Ann Oxendine of Pembroke, NC, and Eltha Locklear of Pembroke, NC; his grandchildren, Tony, Nicole, Josh, Sam, Erica, Ursula, Chianna, Jerald Jr., Aaron, Jordan, and Joshua; and 13 great grandchildren.

In his spare time, he loved to work in the garden and spend time with his beloved wife of 57 years.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 1:00-2:00PM at Cornerstone Church, 127 Freewill Lane, Lumberton, NC 28360. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00PM and will be officiated by David Lowery, Larry Locklear, and Timothy Murray.
