Lizzie Franklin Kinlaw, age 95, of Lumberton, NC died at her home in Lumberton on Friday, June 16, 2017.  She was born in Dillon County, SC on June 23, 1921 to the late Lonnie and Florence Franklin.  She was a homemaker.  She was a talented seamstress, a creative designer in handiwork, and was well known for her home cooking and baking.  She was also an avid gardener who had a special green thumb with flowers and plants.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Hubert Kinlaw, Sr; a son, Hubert Kinlaw, Jr.; a granddaughter, Heather Kinlaw; three sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Kinlaw is survived by her sons, Lonnie Franklin Kinlaw (Marie) of Evans, GA and Mark Alexander Kinlaw (Torina Lynn) of Lumberton; daughters, Phyllis Kinlaw Pate (Gene) of Lumberton and Donna Kinlaw Tolar (Steve) of Willow Spring; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Pastor LeRoy Burke officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.  A time for visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
