Mrs. Lizzie Mae Edwards, 99, of Burgaw, NC, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 4, 1923 to the late Cornelius Neil Bodiford and the late Elizabeth Edwards Bodiford.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Foster Edwards; her son, William Foster Edwards; her brothers: Robert Bodiford, Frank Bodiford, and Oscar Bodiford; and her sister, Annie Bodiford Risen.

She is survived by her daughters: Margaret Williford (Daniel) of Garner, NC, Delores Prevatte (Jim) of Fairmont, NC, Barbara Evers (Jeff) of Burgaw, NC, and Shirley Gainey (Ernie) of Wilmington, NC; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Boardman Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rodney Evers and Pastor Roger Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
