Linda Walters Lawson, 79, of Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born in the Barnesville Community on April 16, 1943 to the late Edwin Walters and the late Catherine Connor Walters.

Linda was the fifth of nine children and is survived by her siblings: Lance Walters of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Ada Ellis of Fair Bluff, NC, Cathy Foley of Lumberton, NC, and Eric Walters of Orrum, NC.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Shirley Barbee, Jeanette Floyd, Randolph Walters, and an infant brother, George Walters.

She was a beloved wife to her husband, Timothy Lawson, for nearly 58 years until his passing in 2019. Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Wendy Mauldin (Dana) of Shallotte, NC, Lori Baucom (Ron) of Fairmont, NC, and Heather Rainaldo (Bill) of Las Vegas, NV. She was "Nanny" to grandchildren: Dane and Megan Mauldin, Ronnie Baucom, and Ashley, William, Caleb, and Paulina Rainaldo, and great-grandchildren: Amber Baucom and Aubree, Brooks, and Callan Mauldin.

Her favorite pastimes revolved around family gatherings, such as fishing and camping trips, cookouts, reunions, and holiday celebrations, that always included wonderful home-cooking and family sing-alongs. Singing hymns with her family was her way of expressing her love of the Lord.

As a life-long member of Barnesville Baptist Church, she was a woman of deep faith and lived by her faith daily through her generosity and love for others. Friends and family alike knew that she could always be counted on in times of need for help and support. As owner of Medical Arts Pharmacy, she was as giving to the community as she was to her family and often put the needs of others before her own.

Family and friends are invited to join in a time of remembrance of her gentle spirit, humor, and kindness during a time of visitation on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Barnesville Baptist Church, 234 Barnesville Church Road in Barnesville, NC, with Pastor John Spence and Pastor David McClellan officiating. Burial will follow at Walters Family Cemetery, 4639 S. Creek Road in Orrum, NC.
