Linda Faye Fields Hammonds, age 63, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born December 23, 1951 in Robeson County, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wright and Mina Mae Fields; a daughter, Tiffany Lynn Hammonds; three brothers: Leroy, Gene, and Jimmy; and two sisters: Gerlie and Eloise. Mrs. Hammonds is survived by two daughters: Victoria Lynn Hammonds of Lumberton and Rebecca Lynn Hammonds of the home; her ex-husband, Dwayne Hammonds of Lumberton; a stepchild, Marshall Clay Hammonds of Maxton; two brothers: David Earl Fields and wife, Glendie, of Clinton and David Ray Fields (Tommy) of Lumberton; three sisters: Helen Jones and husband, Terry, Barbara Gail Scott and husband, Craven, and Darlene Pittman and husband Phillip, all of Lumberton; five grandchildren: Brianna Nicole Hammonds, Brittany Lynn Hammonds, Michaela Renee' Hammonds, Alexis Marie Clark, and Dezlyn Janiha Cummings. Linda Hammonds devoted her life to her children, grandkids, family, and work family. She enjoyed cooking, making quilts, and spending time with family. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church in Lumberton with Rev. Carl Pevia officiating. Burial will follow the service in Robeson Memorial Park.
