Linda Faye Buffkin, age 79, of Hope Mills, NC, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Moore Regional Hospital.

Linda was born in Robeson County on September 17, 1947, to the late John McLaughlin and Beulah Mae Smith. In her spare time, she loved to go fishing and watch UNC basketball.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Buffkin; three brothers, J.C. McLaughlin, Earl McLaughlin and Pope James McLaughlin; four sisters, Ellenor Powers, Juanita McLaughlin, Dorothy McLaughlin and Shirley McLaughlin.

Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Tim Bernicki (Leighanne) and William Patrick Bernicki both of Lumberton; two daughters, Sherry Warren (Venson) of Fayetteville and Angela Bernicki (Joel Johnson) of Hope Mills; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Partrick, Chris, Devyn, Cameron and Jacob; and six great-grandchildren, Malachi, Camie, Sophia, Brantlee, Chase and Bailee

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
