Lincie Burnell
Bass Ivey
Apr 6, 1929 — Sep 14, 2023
Fairmont
Lincie Burnell Bass was the daughter of Daniel Ance Bass and Ella Mae Ivey Bass. She married our father, Harvey, after his return from WWII in 1948. They had been sweethearts before and during his time in the service. They remained married until his death in 1997. They were the parents of Wanda (Wendell Stephens), Belton (Pat), Sally (Dan Wolber), Henry-deceased (Sherry, deceased), and Jenny (Lorenzo Rivera, deceased).
Lincie Burnell attended church and school at Oakdale Baptist Church and at South Robeson. She was a lifelong member of Oakdale and was at church every Sunday when she was able. She instilled in her children her love for her church, her church family and for the Lord.
Our mother grew up on a farm and lived her life as a farmer's wife and a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and made bridesmaids dresses for neighbor's daughters as well as prom dresses and wedding dresses for her own daughters.
Christmas was her favorite time of year when she baked her delicious old-timey fruitcakes and Japanese fruitcakes. She made Christmas special for us, and she loved surprising us as much as she loved surprises herself.
Lincie Burnell Bass Ivey leaves behind grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Jason, Madison and Gene Ivey; Cassidy and Arley Wolber; Sarah Rivera; Rhyne Stephens Hughes and Marc Stephens and great-grandchildren: Darrian, Kinley, Gabrielle and Logan Ivey, and Ethan, Elliott and Elijah Page.
Our mother was ready to be reunited with our father in Heaven. Pooh, Shaboobie, Jezzy and Shotsey, her precious Chihuahuas, will greet her as well. Lincie Burnell will be missed here on earth, but she is with her Heavenly Father and released from her worldly burdens. She was very well-loved.
Her Children: Wanda, Belton, Sally, Henry, and Jenny.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 2:00PM at the Bass Family Cemetery, off of Mattie's Farm Rd. Hwy. 904, Fairmont, NC.
