Lillian Ruth Deaton Liles, ??Ruth?, 78, of Lumberton died on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on February 21, 1933 to Charlie Rufus and Lessie Mae Jolly Deaton. She previously worked as a knitter for Outer Banks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Rufus and Lessie Mae Jolly Deaton; a son, Charles Liles; a grandchild, Bonita Lilies; brothers, Harvey Deaton, Chuck Deaton and Herbert Deaton; and a sister, Emma Lee Hester.

Mrs. Liles is survived by her husband, Sam Liles of the home; a son, George Liles and wife Christine of Lumberton; a step-son, Sammy Liles and wife Diane of Lumberton; a daughter-in-law, Annette Liles; five grandchildren, Charles & William Liles, Becky Brisson and Wendy & Nicholas Liles; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Riley Liles and Kylee Strickland.

A funeral service will be held at on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
