Letha Carroll Smith, 86, of Southeastern Hospice House of Lumberton, went on to be with Jesus on Friday, August 29, 2014. She was born in Bladen County on April 20, 1928. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Simon Franklin Smith, her dear granddaughter, Kayla Leigh Smith, her parents, Robert and Ida Carroll, two sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by three sons, Franklin Smith, Jr. and wife, Patricia, Douglas Smith and wife, Charlene, and Larry Smith and wife, Kimberly, three daughters, Lisa Smith and special friend, Gary Bisbee, Frankie Lynn Smith and special friend, Connie Howard, and Brenda Smith, all of Lumberton, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four sisters, Edna Warner, of Menifee, CA, Evalena Ward, Inez Brotomankle, both of Dublin, NC, and Nellie Rose, of Bladenboro, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
