Leona Batten Britt, age 91, of Orrum, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at her home. She was born on January 2, 1921 to Robert James Batten and Effie Ludlum Batten. She was previously employed at L.A.D. Shop.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Britt and her son, Joseph Britt.

Mrs. Britt is survived by two sons, Jackie Britt and friend, Gwen, of Lumberton and Robert A. Britt and wife, Judy, of Orrum; one daughter, Alice Wilkins, of Orrum; one brother, Raymond Batten, of Clarkton; one sister, Eunice Singletary, of Clarkton; six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and special caretaker, Jan Cox.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 PM at her residence, 252 N. Creek Road, Orrum.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, Orrum, with Rev. James Graham officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Faith Mausoleum.
