Mr. Leon Locklear, Jr., age 0f 84, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Lumberton, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.  He was born in Robeson County on May 10, 1933 to the late Pearl Locklear and the late Narnie Mitchell Locklear.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Locklear; a son, Terry Locklear; three brothers, Benny, Thonce and Robert and eight sisters, Marcella, Beatrice, Cora Lee, Ruby, Gracie, Joyce, Judy and Lillian.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Magdalene Locklear, of the home; his son, Anthony Locklear (Lora) of Lumberton; two daughters, Treva Kaye Waddell (Ronnie) and Gwendolyn Byrd, all of Lumberton; one brother, Bobby Johnson (Susie) of St. Pauls; three sisters, Carolyn McNeill and Blanchie McNeill (Bobby), all of Lumberton and Doris Jean Lewis of High Point; three step-sons, Greg Oxendine (Sheila), David Oxendine (Kim) and Mike Oxendine, all of Rock Hill, SC; a step-daughter, Denise Moore (Rodney) of Rock Hill, SC; step daughter-in-law, Melinda Oxendine of Loust, NC; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A time of visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 12:00-2:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Preacher Tim Holden and Preacher Chalmers Kerns officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
