Lema McDaniel Collins, age 93, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017. She was born July 28, 1923 to the late Alex and Theddius McDaniel of Fairmont. She was a member of Broad Ridge Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen D. "S.D." Collins; a daughter, Ellen Kay Collins; a son, Alex Stephen Collins; three brothers; and six sisters.

Mrs. Collins is survived by one daughter, Patsy Collins Watkins and husband Tommy of Lumberton; five grandchildren: Sheila W. Forrest of Lumberton, Thomas David Watkins and wife Rebecca of Lumberton, Daniel Collins of Greensboro, Kaylee Collins of Concord, and Candace Powers of Lumberton; nine great-grandchildren; and two special friends: Linda Oliver and Dixie Martin.

A time of visitation will take place Saturday, June 24, 2017, prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Broad Ridge Baptist Church.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael Longson officiating. Burial will follow at Broad Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
