Mr. Lawrence Milton "LM" Evans, age 81, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Bolivia, NC.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on May 24, 1943 to the late Lawrence Franklin Evans and the late Eva Mae Johnson Evans.

"LM" founded LM Evans Concrete in Lumberton in 1965 where he worked faithfully for many years.  He loved God, his family and a hard day's work.   He will be remembered for his generosity towards others, his love for cigars, and for never meeting a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elton Evans and Jim Evans and two sisters, Pat Nance and Loyce Sanderson.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Jo Ann Evans, of the home; his children, Carla Franklin (John) of Lumberton, Traci Totherow (Greg) of Raleigh, Sheila Davis (Timmy Ray) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Keith Britt (Melody) of Lumberton and Jason Britt (Jody) of Lexington, SC; one brother, Richard "Dicky" Evans (Joy) of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Tyler Franklin (Meagan), Trevor Franklin (Claudia), Lily Totherow, Brittany Britt (Sam), Bridgette Nunziante (Derrick), Madison Jackson (Wiley), Josh Britt, Jacob Britt, Allie Britt and Jonah Britt; five great-grandchildren, Maddox, Sawyer and Cash Britt and Jette and Delilah Nunziante and special nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2:00-3:00PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 5089 Old Whiteville Road, Lumberton.

A funeral service will follow the visitation on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 3:00PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Blake Dodd and Pastor Mark Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
