Lawrence Ivey's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence Furman Ivey, Sr., age 85, of Proctorville, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Proctorville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Proctorville Baptist Church.
Mr. Ivey was born August 13, 1926. He was a retired farmer, outdoorsman and faithful deacon and servant of Proctorville Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Furman and Nolie Spivey Ivey; two sisters, Hilda McLean and Dixie Barrington; and brother, David Ivey.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Rhodes Ivey, of the home; a daughter, Deborah Hewitt and husband, Richard, of Bladenboro; two sons, Lawrence Furman Ivey, Jr. and wife, Deborah, of Orrum and John Mark Ivey and wife, Lisa, of Smithfield; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers: donations can be made to Proctorville Baptist Church P.O. Box 40 Proctorville, NC 28375.
