Lavonia Sealey Rigsbee, age 81, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born on May 7, 1931 in Robeson County to the late Rembert F. Sealey and the late Edith Attaway Sealey. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lander Rigsbee and a brother, Felton H. Sealey.

Mrs. Rigsbee is survived by one son, David L. Rigsbee, of Greenville, NC; one daughter, Ann Rigsbee Holec and husband, David, of Greenville, NC; one brother, Daniel F. Sealey, of Lumberton; and three sisters, Grace S. Scott, of Hartsville, SC, Joyce S. Oliver and Carolyn S. Jones, both of Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, Lumberton, with Rev. David Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Lumberton.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service, at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Godwin Heights Baptist Church, 704 Godwin Avenue, Lumberton, NC 28358.
