Lavinia Williams, age 99, of Lumberton, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Wesley Pines Nursing Center in Lumberton.  She was born in Bladen County on October 18, 1926 to the late Hiram E. White and the late Lundy Spencer White.  She was a charter member at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Lumberton.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Foster Bowman Williams; three brothers, Manley White, Livingston White and Tommy White and her sister, Betty Weston.

Lavinia is survived by her three loving sons, Kenny Williams (Phyllis), Tommy Williams and Joe Williams (Doris), all of Lumberton; two brothers, Ronnie White (Jean) of Cedar Creek, NC and Richard White (Patty) of Kinston, NC; three sisters, Phyllis Guill and Linda McPherson, both of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Eleanor Burrow of Rural Hall, NC; three grandchildren, Joseph Williams (Sarah), Jamie Chappell (Quinton) and Thomas Williams; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Josie Williams, and her loving and special friend, Frances Thorndyke.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 12:30-2:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 2:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Blackburn officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith in Lumberton.
