Mrs. Laura Mae Taylor Turner, age 93, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021. She was born in Robeson County, NC on April 3, 1928 to the late Howard Taylor and the late Nellie Haire Taylor. She was a hairdresser and the owner-operator of Laura Mae's Beauty Shoppe for many years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Howard Turner, and four brothers: Martin Taylor, R.M. Taylor, W.M. Taylor, and A.J. Taylor.

She is survived by three sons: Bobby Earl Turner (Dianne), Carey Wayne Turner (Debra), and Phil Turner (Lirda); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Earl Taylor and Kenny Taylor; and five sisters: Evelyn Kalal, Martha Lee Lawson, Mary Lou Register, Nellie Mae Richardson, and Juneal Smith.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 3:00-4:00 PM at New Life Church, 3990 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM with Pastor Tim Williford, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Bobby & Dianne Turner, 5210 N. Fayetteville Road in Lumberton.
