Laura Frances Britt was born in Robeson County on June 13, 1933, the daughter of the late W. M. and Laura Sasser Britt. She departed this life on July 1, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Thelma Strickland and Mary Elizabeth Britt; three brothers, Robert Lee Britt, Harvey J. Britt and Junior E. Britt and a special friend, Joel S. Sellers.

She is survived by a brother, James W. Britt of Lumberton and a sister, Carlene Stead of Lumberton; two god-daughters, Jennifer Ann Whittington and Julia Whittington McLean, both of Lumberton; many nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Russell Turner.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 3, 2009 at East Lumberton Church of God in Lumberton, NC at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton, NC.
