Ms. Laura Bailey Barnes, age 84, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Carolina Continued Care Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 3:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont.

Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-3:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services.

Ms. Barnes was born June 21, 1932 in Dillon County, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Bailey and Maggie Merritt Bailey; her husband, Bernice Barnes; a sister, Linda Bailey.

She is survived by a son, William Barnes and wife Mairlyn of New London, NC; a daughter, Joyce Stephens of Norwood, NC; four sisters, Virginia Caulder, Mary Hodge, and Martha Simmons all of Fairmont, and Marie Hayes of Whiteville; one brother, Lonnie "Buddy" Bailey of Fairmont; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
