Mr. Larry Lee Lowery ("Uncle Larry" to most), age 76, went home to be with Jesus early Tuesday morning, April 16, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born September 1, 1947 in Robeson County, NC to the late Daulman & Katie Lowery.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: infant Robert Brantley Lowery, Albert Lowery, and Daulman Lowery, Jr., and his sisters: Hilda Ransom, Louvertie Potts, and Phyllis Yaw.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Judith Cummings; his aunt, Ellen "Kit" Oxendine; 26 nieces and nephews, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews who love him deeply.

Uncle Larry was a loving, gentle, humble man. He was spoiled by all who knew him. One look by his pretty blue eyes and that big smile and you were hooked. He really enjoyed chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, peanut butter, and Pepsi. He loved riding his bike to his neighbors' houses on Odum Road to visit with them every chance he had. He also loved wearing watches and hats and looking at books. Uncle Larry had a special place in his heart for his pastor and church family, who all spoiled him as well. He gave his sisters a hard way to go, but he loved them deeply. He will always be remembered for saying he was "two years old" and that he had "two wives".

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Harvest Church, 986 Raynham Farms Road in Rowland, NC. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens, 774 Moss Neck Road in Lumberton, NC.
