Larry Avilia Hunt, Sr., 70, of Lumberton, NC, was called home on August 22, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Stoney Hunt and Alberta Hunt.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Hunt, and Jerry Coleman Hunt; and his sisters Ellendale Hunt, and Mary Ruth Hunt.

Larry enjoyed spending his free time going to church, playing his guitar, going to flea markets and spending time with his family. Larry worked in construction as a drywall finisher.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Hunt, Jr. (Angelica) of Lauirnburg, NC, Gary Hunt, Perry Hunt (Angela), and Trinity Jacobs (Brooke) all of Lumberton, NC; his daughters, Mary Jacobs of Lumberton, NC, and Tiesha Roberts (Kevin) of Hindsville, GA; brothers, Neil John Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Terry Hunt (Laura) of Lumberton, NC; sisters, Janice Sauderson (Bobby) of Pembroke, NC, Carolyn Brewington of Lumberton, NC, Wanda Chavis (Roger) of Lumberton, NC, and Gwanda Hunt of Pembroke, NC; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and special relatives, Blumie Hunt, Jacob McKoy, and Thristina Jacobs.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Vincent Locklear and Rev. Sanford Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 427 Gaddy Road in Fairmont, NC.
