Mrs. Kimberly McCartney Branch, age 53, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, at her home. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 17, 1967. She was a graduate of Fayetteville State University and was currently attending UNC-Pembroke, pursuing her doctorate degree in Education.

She will be remembered for her dedication as a Kindergarten teacher at Rowland Norment Elementary School. She truly loved her job and her children. She also enjoyed camping and spending time at the beach. But most of all, she loved her family. She will always be described as a strong and independent individual.

She was preceded in death by her father, Terry Lee McCartney.

She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Rowland McCartney; her husband, Alex Branch, Jr. of the home; her son, Josh Branch of Lumberton, NC; a very special granddaughter, Aubreigh B. of Whiteville, NC; her fur-baby, Swagg; and two brothers, Rodney McCartney and Jack McCartney (Penny), all of Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 5:30-6:30 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Rick Foreman officiating.

Mrs. Branch requested that in lieu of flowers, please fill a bookbag with school supplies and drop it off at Rowland Norment Elementary School, in care of Sonja Parrent or Sally Mercer.
