Obituary

Kevin  "Austin" Galloway, 36, of Supply, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 28, 2026, in Brunswick County.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Galloway; father, Troy Galloway; and brother, Richard "Shae" Britt.

Born June 28, 1990, Austin was a one of a kind soul whose presence was impossible to forget. He was carefree, talented, adventurous, and full of life. Wherever Austin went, there was almost certainly laughter. He had a way of bringing life to every room and making the people around him smile. He truly was the life of the party.

Austin was a true jack of all trades. His natural talent and ability to create, build, fix, and figure things out seemed almost limitless. He spent much of his working life as a commercial fisherman, a job that reflected his love of the water and his adventurous spirit. Outside of work, Austin enjoyed surfing, fishing, art, and woodworking. He could turn his hands and his imagination into just about anything, leaving behind not only things he created, but memories that will last far longer.

Above everything else, Austin loved his family. His greatest accomplishment and the greatest joy of his life was his daughter, Ava Galloway. Being her father was something he carried with tremendous pride. The love between a father and his daughter will forever remain one of the most meaningful parts of his legacy.

Austin leaves behind his mother, Tina Britt Phillips (Orrum); a sister, Brianna Galloway (Stacey) (Bladenboro); stepbrother, Daniel Phillips and wife Bethany (Germany); stepsister, Katelyn Phillips (Winston-Salem); daughter, Ava Galloway, and her mother, Megan Galloway (Lawsonville); paternal grandmother, Ruby Galloway; maternal grandparents, Donald and Jewel Britt; uncles, Richie Britt, Joey Simeck, Jeffrey Galloway (Sherree), and Mark Galloway (Lori); aunts, Felicia Varnum (Sport) and Misty Carmichael (Jack); and numerous loving cousins, along with countless friends and loved ones who were blessed to know him.

Austin's life was far too short, but the mark he left on the people who loved him was anything but small. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his wild and carefree spirit, his incredible talents, his love of the water, and most of all, the love he had for his family and his daughter.

There will never be another Austin. His story, his laughter, his creations, and the memories he gave the people who loved him will live on through those he leaves behind.
