Kent Prevatte, age 57, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. He was born in Lumberton on August 7, 1965 to Eric Keith Prevatte and the late Patsy Musselwhite Prevatte.

Kent is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Prevatte of the home; his father, Eric Keith Prevatte of Lumberton, NC; his grandfather, James B. Prevatte of Lumberton, NC; his daughters, Kristin Marie Newberry (Jonathan) of Orrum, NC and Kiley Nicole Prevatte of Columbia, SC; his sister, Daphne "DeeDee" Prevatte (Amanda) of Bladenboro, NC; his brother, Patrick Prevatte (Sherri) of Holden Beach, NC; his grandchildren: Jailyn, Hunter, Mason, and Dawson Newberry, all of Orrum, NC; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

Kent had a diverse work career which started with working at the family's auto parts store and ended with working as an IT professional. But, his true passion in life was his music and his family. Kent will be missed for his goofy sense of humor, his kind nature, and for always trying to lift people up and brighten their days.

A time of visitation will be held on the evening of Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
