Katie Hunt Oxendine, age 86, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at her home.

She was born July 6, 1935, in Robeson County, NC to the late Luther Hunt and Minnie Lowery Hunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Oxendine; three daughters: Doris Jones, Betty Deese, and Patricia Hunt; three brothers: Willie Howard, James "Luke", and Billy Ray Hunt; four sisters, Queen Ester Hunt, Isabel Hunt, Flora Oxendine, and Sallie Mae Clark; and a grandson, Marty Hunt.

She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Addie Lee Hunt of Pembroke, NC, Annie Ruth Hunt of Fairmont, NC, and Carolyn Locklear and Wilma Oxendine, both of Lumberton, NC; a son, Randy Jones of Lumberton, NC; a sister, Frances Hunt of Lumberton, NC; a brother, Yancy Hunt of Laurinburg, NC; 29 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, September 13, 2021, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM.
