Ms. Katie Lynn Byrd age 65, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Wesley Pines Retirement Home in Lumberton, NC. She was born November 24, 1956 in Florence, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Byrd Sr. and Hazel West Byrd.

Ms. Byrd is survived by one brother, Roscoe Byrd, Jr. of Fairmont, NC; one sister, Nancy Byrd of Lumberton, NC; and a host of cousins, friends, and extended family members. She loved many and was loved by many.

After receiving a Master's Degree and National Board Certification, she was a school teacher at Fairmont Middle School for more than thirty years. She liked to spend her free time with the Garden Club playing bridge, going to the beach, and being physically active and exercising.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Cemetery, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.
