Mrs. Kathryn Oliver Floyd, age 83, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Wesley Pines Retirement Center of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on March 14, 1931 to the late Paul Shepard and Elizabeth Sellers Oliver. She was a piano teacher and served as an organist and choir director at Trinity United Methodist Church for over thirty years. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bailey Wayne Floyd, and her brothers, Paul Shepard Oliver, Jr. and James Ritch Oliver. She is survived by her sons, John Wayne Floyd and wife, Carolyn, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Preston Scott Floyd and wife, Allison, of Lexington, SC, her daughter, Betsy Floyd Tusai and husband, Mike, of Sunset Beach, NC, and five grandchildren, Joseph Edgar Floyd, Nancy Kathryn Floyd, Preston Giles Floyd, Mary Claire Floyd, and Spencer Thomas Floyd.
