Mrs. Doris June Williams McNeill Floyd, 83, of High Point, NC, formerly of Lumberton, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC.

Doris June was born September 5, 1935 in Lumberton, NC. June graduated from Lumberton High School and went on to attend Flora McDonald College in Red Springs. While there, she was devoted to their music program and graduated with an associate degree in Business. June was employed with Pilot Life, JP Stevens, and Carolina Steel in data entry.

However, her greatest devotion throughout her life was to the children of her church. She was involved with teaching the preschool-age Sunday School class throughout her membership at North Main Baptist Church and Westchester Baptist Church until she retired. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed singing in the church choir.  After retirement, she returned to her roots in Lumberton, where she became a member of Godwin Heights Baptist Church.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Elgie Williams; her husband of thirty-five years, Amos Grady McNeill, Jr.; and her husband of eight years, Henry T. Floyd.

She is survived by her children: David McNeill (Karen), Mark McNeill (Paula), all of High Point, NC, Kelly McNeill Johnson (Bartlett) of St. Simon's Island, GA; Terry Floyd (Donna) of Lumberton, NC, and Joan Floyd, Janet Sylvester, and Gayle Long (David), all of Florence, SC.

June's pride and joy were her grandchildren: Dustin McNeill (Lindsay), Stephen McNeill (Carmela), Mikayla McNeill (Patriek), Zachary Johnson, Andrea McNeill Adams (Christian), Brittany Johnson, Nicholas McNeill, and Mary McNeill; Jamison Floyd, Kelly Floyd, Loren Long (Christi), Amber Long, Dale Sylvester (Kristen), Kristin Sylvester (Shane) and Adam Sylvester; and her three great-grandchildren, Carly Roberts, Lawrence McNeill, and Ren Long.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM in Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eric Peacock officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
