June Pittman Edwards, of Barnesville passed away on Monday, October 20th, 2025 at the age of 74 following her courageous battle with cancer.

June, also known as June Bug by those who loved her, was born in Raeford, NC to the late Lawrence Pittman and Sarah Guin Pittman on December 23rd, 1950.

Her husband of 48 years, Maurice Edwards remains in the home in Barnesville, NC.

June Bug enjoyed traveling to the mountains, cooking dishes made with love, listening to Bluegrass music, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Danford (Vanessa) of Laurinburg, NC, Brandy Danford (Jennifer) of Panama City, FL, two special nieces, Dana Hupp (Marty) of Bostic, NC and Christie Mcduffie (Jon) of Hallsboro, sister Karen Bowman of Raeford, along with a multitude of special grandkids, great grandkids,  nieces, and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Lois Pittman Batton and Donald Pittman.

Per her wishes, no services will be held as she wants a celebration of life to follow by spreading her ashes in the mountains.
