Mrs. Judy Barnes McLamb, age 71, of Fairmont, NC went home to eternal rest on Easter (Resurrection Morning), Sunday, March 31, 2024. Judy was born June 2, 1952 to the late Gurney Barnes and the late Macie Hunt Barnes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlton Pridgen, and a niece, Gwen Johnson.

Judy was a life long member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. She was WMU Director, VBS Director, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and Church Council Member. Judy's greatest passion was working with the WMU Ladies and singing in the church choir. She loved to cook and was known for her homemade biscuits and spaghetti. She loved going to the steak house and always ordered the large T-bone. If you visited Judy's home and admired something that she had on the wall or maybe on a table, when you walked out it was placed in your hands. Judy will always be remembered for giving heart.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Robert McLamb of the home; two brothers, Allen Barnes and wife Lori Ann, of Fairmont, NC and Tommy Barnes of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Betty Barnes Johnson of Fayetteville, NC; the children she raised, Nicholas Chavis, Courtney Scott and Sharon Hunt all of Fairmont, NC; three nephews, three nieces, a great nephew and a great niece; special long-time friends, JC and Annie Ruth Chavis, Cookie Hunt, Linnie Jacobs, Calvin and Vera Bryant.

A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 198 Pleasant View Church Road, Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will also follow in the church cemetery.
