Joyce Ann Smith Thompkins, 74, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born November 13, 1942 in Bladen County to the late George H. Smith, Jr. & Annie Register Smith. She was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Alwyn Smith.

She is survived by three daughters: Deborah Thompkins and fiancé John C. Emanuel of Laurinburg, Vivian Thompkins Adams and husband Jerry of Lumberton, and Tabitha Thompkins and significant other Willie Leake of Lumberton; and four grandchildren: Nicholas Adams, Matthew Mercer, Audrey Edwards, and Austin Edwards.

A time of visitation will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bruce Brumfield officiating. Burial will be private.
