Joyce Hunt Godwin, 67, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born in Robeson County on December 9, 1949 to the late George Hunt & Polly Hammonds.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Percell Godwin; her beloved friend, James Maxwell Phillips; one brother, J.D. Hunt; and two daughters, Doren A. Bostic & Tina Godwin.

She is survived by one brother, George Thomas Hammonds; one sister, Bell; one daughter, Priscilla Joyce Godwin and friend, Craig McCormick; four sons: Carl Anthony Godwin and wife Jeanette Godwin, Percell Godwin, Jr., Glenn Godwin, and Marty Godwin; her grandchildren: Noah, Tonda, Ronnie, David, Jack, Bobby, Jeremy, Josh, Jason, Tamara, Jessie, and Tristen; four great-grandchildren; and many great friends and her church family at New Life Church in Lumberton.

Services will be held at a later date.
