Mr. Jovis "Joe" Hunt, age 64 of Fairmont went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 27, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Robeson County on May 11, 1953 to the late Boston and Thelma Hunt. He retired from Benson Construction Company after 41 years of service.

In addition to his parents Jovis was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Oxendine and Lee Verchus Locklear; his brothers, NL and Ronald Hunt.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Edith Ann Hunt; two daughters, Veronica and Kelly Hunt; three grandchildren, Destiny and Kenrrick Quick and Nicholas "Gage" Rollins all of Fairmont; four brothers, Thomas, Ray, Randy, and Donald Hunt; five sisters, Juanita Graham, Erma Campbell, Janice Rogers, Bernice Oxendine and Pamela Hunt; his brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and aunt; special family friends, Stephen, Amy, Burt, Jan and Bucky Benson; and all the members of the Benson crew.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 3:00PM at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church with Revs. Scott Hammonds and Ricky Burnett officiating.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the church.

Burial will follow in New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery.
