Journey Allen Powell, age 7 months, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was born in Cumberland County on May 2, 2025.

Journey had a smile that would light up any room. He was always such a happy fellow, so full of joy and happiness. He loved his brothers and sister dearly. Some nicknames he had were "Big Head", "Peanut", "Journey-Mourney", and "Rabbit". Most recently, he had learned to bounce across the floor as he tried to crawl and was also trying to learn to walk. His favorite toys were his stuffed goldfish and his elephant bell. He would dance and jump to any music played around him. He also enjoyed watching baby fruit videos, Ms. Rachel, and SpongeBob. His favorite song to be sung to sleep to was "The House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Kaitlyn Hayes and Austin Powell; his brothers, Legend Powell and Treasure Powell; his sister, Delilah Hayes; his grandparents: Allen Powell, Jennifer Tyndall, Patricia Regan, Fred & Elizabeth Andrews, and Gertie Wilkins; his great-grandparents: Betty B., Eddie B., and Charlie Collins; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins and other extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
