Josephine Oxendine Hunt, age 95, of Lumberton gained her Heavenly wings on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. She was born August 30, 1924 in Robeson County, NC.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Loula Oxendine; her husband of fifty-six years George Frank Hunt; three sons, Franklin M. Hunt, Jimmy Ray Hunt and Edward (Shudy) Hunt; a daughter, Flora Ann Hunt; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Hunt; grandsons, Gregory Jacobs, Micheal and Brian Dial.

Ms. Josephine is survived by one son Marshall Hunt of Lumberton; six daughters, Betty Dial of Pembroke, Linnie Jacobs and Joann Chavis both of Lumberton, Linda Jacobs, Mary Alice Stephens (Earl) and Betty Hunt (Timmy) all of Fairmont and a granddaughter, April Hunt and a grandson Eric Hunt whom she raised; twenty nine grandchildren and a host of great grands and great-great grands two special nieces, Mary Frances Moody and Nancy Carol Hunt and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Graveside service will be held Sunday, August 9, 2020, at 2:00PM at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
