Joseph Ray Weinstein, 75, of Carolina Beach, NC passed away on May 6, 2015. A funeral service with Masonic rites will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC. Visitation will be immediately after the service. Joe Weinstein was born in Lumberton, NC on January 11, 1940 to I.E. and Phyllis Weinstein. He was a graduate of Lumberton High School and the University of Alabama. Joe worked as the third generation of the family business, A. Weinstein & Sons, later opening the National Company, and finally K&J Clothiers. His passion for the clothing business and his customers could be seen throughout his life. He was a 50 year member in the Masonic Lodge as well as a Shriner. Joe is survived by wife Kathryn and children Robyn (Hank Cox), Miriam Regan (Bryan), and Max (Meredith), sisters Sandra Weinstein, and Betsy Fleisig (Howard). He was also blessed with six special grandchildren Hannah, Anna Drew, Parker, Griffin, Garrison, and Grace. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 430 East Front Street New Bern, NC 28560.
