Joseph Smith, age 68, of Fairmont, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Funeral services will be Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont. Burial will follow in Fairmont Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. He was born August 25, 1947 in Robeson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Smith and Marie Locklear Smith; two brothers, Gilbert and Linwood Smith and a granddaughter, Derika Armoni McIntyre. Mr. Smith is survived by wife, Lay Lonnie Smith; three daughters, Elaine Marie Smith (Antwon) of Lumberton, Relena Kaye Smith (James) of Thomasville, NC, and Joann Smith of Fairmont; four brothers, Junior Smith (Robin) of Wingate, NC, Elwood Smith (Carol) also of Wingate, NC, James Smith of Charlotte and Fred Smith of Fayetteville; one sister, Linda Carol Smith Hayes (Joseph) of Fairmont; six grandchildren, Santana, Brittery, Amber, Nina, Desmond, and Malik; five great grandchildren, ZaNiah Lowery, Jamerit Brown, Demarion McIntyre, Curon Lennon and Kristen Marie Mercer; best friend, Regina Bailey; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
